When students are successful, our community is successful!

I strongly believe in the power of education to transform lives and strengthen communities. I believe Lane Community College offers a path of opportunity to a better future for students from all walks of life—whether they’re seeking an associate degree, vocational training, or a seamless transfer to a four-year university. It’s critical that we continue to make education accessible to everyone, especially those from underserved communities.

One of my core values as a board member is ensuring that all students, regardless of background, have equal access to quality education. That means advocating for affordable tuition, comprehensive support services, and resources to help students overcome the barriers they may face, including financial hardship, housing instability, and food insecurity. I am committed to reducing the costs for students and faculty to ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed.

As a non-traditional student who benefited greatly from my education at LCC, I’m passionate about fostering an inclusive and diverse campus environment. We must ensure that our college is a place where everyone feels welcome, valued, and supported, by addressing issues of racial and economic inequality and also fostering a culture of respect for all identities, backgrounds, and experiences.

As our region continues to grow, LCC must continue to be responsive to the needs of the local economy, it’s vital that we align our programs with the demands of the workforce. That’s why I will advocate for partnerships with local businesses, industries, and labor unions to ensure that students are receiving the education and training they need to thrive in the jobs of tomorrow.

In this financially uncertain and difficult time, I will put my board governance and organizational management experience to use to help navigate the threats and opportunities for LCC. I am committed to ensuring that the Lane Community College has the necessary funding and support to meet the growing needs of students, faculty, staff, and our community today and into the future.
